I recently bough this nice toy, and I decided to share my impressions. Check out the images:
The Asus C202SA is a great laptop, with an exceptional keyboard, and acceptable hardware. I definitely recommend it to people who need a light laptop to carry around and to not worry about. If your main concern is browsing the web and writing on the go, this may be just the machine you need. The same goes in case you want to be productive and the Google suite and Android apps are all you need for your work. This little machine can get the job done.
I love its form-factor, weight and body. It feels like it can take some beating without a problem due to its reinforced corners. The design of the lid is aesthetically pleasing. The port selection is very much to my liking (two regular-sized USB3.0 ports and an HDMI port). And the battery life is great (8-12 hours).
The display is its weakest feature, being a cheap TN panel. It's not that bad though - colors and contrast are good enough. The problem is mostly its restrictive viewing angles. Add to that the slightly underpowered processor - it's fast enough for most everyday tasks, but will let power users down.
There is an upcoming successor to the C202. It's called C204 and it's expected to have roughly double the specs and performance (CPU, RAM, storage), a touchscreen option and USB-C ports. It sounds like a substantial upgrade. However, I feel the C202 will remain a good choice due to its great keyboard, lower price, regular-sized USB and HDMI ports, and its proven rugged design. I also have a soft spot for the looks of the C202, especially its lid - it's non-pretentious and playful. The design of the C204 will be different, more conventional.
I'd say the Asus C202SA is a great machine - given its price, and assuming it's used for browsing, streaming videos or light-weight productivity on the go.
